Most mining equipment manufacturers lean into being “tough” or “strong.” Following suit wasn’t going to help Komatsu win market share. After doing our homework, we learned that mining professionals felt under appreciated. This campaign re-affirmed the value the customer brings and positioned Komatsu as the partner who truly “gets it.”

I came up with an interactive display featuring mined minerals on a custom touch board. Once the minerals are touched, the screen tells users what the mineral is and how it is used in everyday life. It increased tradeshow booth traffic significantly and has been implemented as an interactive exhibit in children's museums across the globe.

We took Made Possible by Mining on the road to one of the industry's biggest shows, blending it with a rockstar-themed evening event. Guitar Hero. Airbrush tattoos. A lip sync battle. Tour shirts. This event had it all.​
